Easy Chair by Fredrik Paulsen
-
Fredrik Paulsen started to experiment in various techniques for coloring wood during his time at the Royal College of Art. He did his own wood stain recipes exploring the reactions of different solutions and different types of wood. Paulsen also built up a library in experiments in how various types of wood distributed color with its own capillary action creating beautiful color to wood fadings.
Paulsen makes all the coloring himself in his Stockholm studio. The technique makes every Easy Chair a unique object.

The Acapulco chair is a classic Mexican chair. It takes its name from the famous Pacific resort.
In the 1950s, when the chair first went into production, Acapulco was the Hollywood hot spot. John Wayne, Elvis, and the Kennedys lounged on sunny terraces overlooking the Acapulco bay.
